Americans won't have a choice but to be on Obama Care because their insurance company won't survive if B. Hussein gets his way.
President Obama has voiced his impatience over the legislative process concerning the health care reform bills being drafted by Congress. He has declared, “The time for talking is through,” and is pressuring Congress to vote on a bill before the end of this month even though neither of the bills before the House and Senate come close to meeting the objectives of lower health care costs and improving access. The director of the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office testified before the Senate last week announcing that the nothing in the bills submitted for scoring would reduce health care spending and the bills would, in fact, increase the already exploding budget deficit.
In fact, the current bills would vastly increase the amount government spends on health care while also destroying private insurance policies thus forcing everyone onto a newly-created government-run plan. This is in direct contradiction to Obama’s promises throughout his effort to sell his version of health care reform that anyone currently satisfied with their private insurance and medical providers will be allowed to keep them. Currently, despite Obama’s grim assessments, over 85% of Americans are satisfied with their insurance plans and doctors. They do not want to be forced into some government plan that will place a layer of government bureaucracy between them and their doctors. While private insurance companies are often accused of inserting themselves between patients and doctors, the main difference is that ultimately, individuals can change insurance providers if they become too fed up with the red tape. However, once the government becomes the only insurance option in town, that choice goes away and patients are stuck with the treatments that the government decides they will get.
The current plans are particularly disturbing because they include provisions that would break Obama’s promises and prohibit private insurers from revising any part of their existing policies which anyone who has ever purchased insurance through their employer knows is an annual occurrence as insurers revise covered expenses and update costs and payments. Under the plan Obama is seeking to force Congress to pass by the end of this month, there could be no changes to any existing policies. As soon as any adjustments are made to existing policies, they would be outlawed. Private insurance companies would also not be allowed to write any new policies. It doesn’t take too much to realize that this will eventually place everyone on the new public option that B. Hussein Obama insists must be part of any health care reform. Whether you like it or not, you will eventually be insured by B. Hussein’s government and they will make your medical decisions for you.
Today, the president fielded a question from a blogger from Maine who described the Draconian restrictions included in the bill and asked the president “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?” The president, who has scheduled a national press conference in order to convince Americans of the need for this bill responded, “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” Apparently, the bill that is so urgent that Congress must bypass all forms of deliberate debate in order to pass immediately, isn’t important enough for the president to actually read and become familiar with. While the bill is currently over 1,000-pages-long, the specific provision in question is located on page 16. Any legitimate review of the legislation would have at least covered the first 16 pages.
However, there is another possibility and that is B. Hussein Obama is perfectly familiar with the provision in question. Not only is he familiar with it, but it is a requirement to his plans to destroy the current private insurance market, thus forcing everyone to be dependent on his all-powerful administration. His heavy-handed tactics of pressuring Congress to pass this legislation before anyone, including members of Congress, can read it are necessary to hijack the American health care system before anyone is able to fully comprehend the magnitude of his actions. This presents a clear and present danger to every American who values personal freedom and quality health care.
The American Thinker points out that the World Health Organization (WHO) recently ranked the United State’s health care system number 1 out of 191 countries for being responsive to patients’ needs, including providing timely treatments and a choice of doctors. However, B. Hussein Obama claims that the entire system is broken and must be rebuilt from the ground up. The WHO’s number one ranking coincides with the fact that the 85% of Americans are perfectly happy with their current insurance and doctors. B. Hussein isn’t satisfied with the current system because he does not have total control over it. Americans need to call their representatives and senators to demand that Obama never gets the control he is seeking. If Obama wanted provide every American with health insurance coverage, he could have done so by purchasing the uninsured private insurance policies for far less money than what he spent on his impotent economic “stimulus” bill. But this was never a question of providing insurance coverage; it is, and always has been, about inserting as much control as possible over every aspect of Americans’ lives. Call your representatives in Congress today and demand that they refuse to go along with B. Hussein Obama’s power grab.
